Wilke Family Inducted Into Belleville HOF

Coons & Wilke-PAK Begin Belleville Midget Nationals Title defense on Aug. 1

Belleville, Kan., July 31—Jerry Coons Jr., and Wilke-PAK Motorsports will begin defense to their Belleville Midget Nationals Championship, on opening night Aug. 1 at the famed Belleville High Banks. Both nights also carry USAC National Midget Series points.Friday Night will be highlighted by qualifying, heat races and a feature, with the 40-lap Championship feature to be run on Saturday Night. The 31st annual Belleville event this year is being sponsored by one of the team’s major sponsors Speedway Motors.

After winning on Sunday Night July 27 at Eagle Raceway (Lincoln, Neb.), mechanical problems sidelined the teams efforts at the next three events, leading into Belleville. On Thursday afternoon the Wilke Racing Family will be inducted into the Belleville High Banks Hall of Fame & Midget Museum at a special ceremony. The permanent building is located about two-miles from the track.
