T. Swanson And Hines Romp In USAC Action At Lucas

Indianapolis, Ind. – Tanner Swanson and Tracy Hines came away as the big winners in USAC action at Lucas Oil Raceway Park on Saturday evening. Swanson copped the TRAXXAS USAC Silver Crown 100-lap race and Hines took the Honda USAC National Midget Series event on the .6-mile oval.
Tanner and Kody Swanson dominated the “J. D. Byrider 100,” the TRAXXAS Silver Crown race, leading all 100 laps. Winner Tanner Swanson led the final 86 laps taking the lead from his older brother, who led the opening 14 rounds.
The winner drove the Bowman-Canine Racing/Banjo Corporation/Beast/Kistler and his brother steered the DePalma Motorsports/Radio Hospital/Beast/Hampshire.
Finishing third on a cool evening was Wisconsin’s David Byrne.
Chris Windom and Hines were fourth and fifth.
Kody Swanson leads the point standings followed by Bobby East and Jerry Coons Jr.
In the midget action, Hines led 26 of the 30 laps to win for the 14th time at Lucas. He drove the Bob Parker/Parker Machinery-Turbines, Inc./Spike/Stanton Toyota.
Rising star Kyle Larson hustled the Kunz Toyota to the runner-up position with Tanner Swanson third in another Kunz entry.
Darren Hagen took fourth place with Kyle O’Gara fifth.
In points, Hines holds down first place ahead of Hagen and Bobby Santos.
