Elkhart Lake, WI – With a lap of 1:45.2681, Pato O’Ward topped the charts in the second round of practice for the NTT IndyCar Series Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America.

With the focus in the practice session solidly set on qualifying, the 2020 pole sitter at Road America seemed happy with his result, “We had a good start so far, we just need to do one more step to fight for qualifying,” said O’Ward.
Team Penske’s Will Power remained quick and set the second fastest lap in the session just .177 seconds behind O’Ward. He was followed by defending race and series champion Alex Palou. Alexander Rossi, fastest in the first practice, was fourth and Josef Newgarden finished fifth quick.

While nine of the top ten drivers were also in the top ten in the opening practice session. Romain Grosjean jumped up from 14th in the opening round to 8th in round two.

In the seven NTT IndyCar series Grand Prix races at Road America, Will Power has qualified in the top five six times including the pole in the 2016 event. Power was fourth quick in practice one and second in practice two. That should make him a favorite for the pole today.

Qualifying is scheduled to hit the track at 12:45pm CST.
