Speedway, Ind. July 22—The traditional red and white #21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford driven by Ryan Blaney will switch to a blue and white scheme for this weekend’s Crown Royal presents the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard as part of Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center’s new “Trading One Uniform for Another” scholarship program.

The scholarship program which is a partnership between Quick Lane and the Disabled American Veterans will provide five military veterans with $10,000 in their quest to become automotive technicians.

“It’s neat to be a part of something that is so special, “Blaney said Friday, “We have great partners like Quick Lane that want to do stuff like this and help out the veterans. It’s great what they’re doing to help veterans out and give them careers after they get back, and that’s the least we can do to try to give back to them after what they’ve done for us.”

Len Wood, co-owner of Wood Brothers Racing, said this partnership carried special meaning for his family because of the military tie-in.

“Our uncle Leonard was in the military during the Korean War,” Wood stated, “It’s really an honor that Quick Lane selected this race and our car to represent this message they want to deliver. NASCAR and the veterans really go hand in hand and if you’ll notice every week NASCAR does a tremendous job saluting veterans.”
