‘Stars and Cars’ of ARCA Midwest Tour Set 2021 Super Late Model Schedule

Oregon, WI- The ‘Stars and Cars’ of the ARCA Midwest Tour are set to visit five states during their 2021 racing season, marking the 15th anniversary season for the popular asphalt Super Late Model sanctioning body. After an abbreviated season in 2020, the Tour will contest ten Championship points events as well as two non-point events in 2021.

The season opening Joe Shear Classic at Madison International Speedway on Sunday afternoon May 2 will again pay $10,000 to the winner of the 200 lap event. This will be the first Super Late Model race at ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’ since August of 2019. A visit to ‘The World’s Fastest Half Mile’ is next on the schedule, as the ARCA Midwest Tour joins the ARCA/CRA Super Series on Tuesday May 18 for the Fly Over States 150 at Winchester Speedway. The non-points event for the Midwest Tour is the first ever Midwest Tour event at Winchester and first in the state of Indiana since 2015. Completing the month of May is the Salute the Troops 100 at Jefferson Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday night May 29. Known as ‘Wisconsin’s Action Track’, Jefferson is known for providing unmatched on-track racing excitement.

The much anticipated return to The Milwaukee Mile is set for Father’s Day, Sunday June 20. The Father’s Day 100 is again expected to attract top Super Late Models from across the nation to Wisconsin State Fair Park to battle the ARCA Midwest Tour’s best. The 2019 return to The Mile saw Touring Star Austin Nason top a star-studded field which included drivers from twelve states.

Grundy County Speedway will host the ARCA Midwest Tour on Saturday night July 10. The Wayne Carter Classic 100 presented by Rod Baker Ford and Illinois Truck and Equipment will play out under Grundy’s new LED lighting system at the recently updated and repaved fairgrounds facility. The next stop for the ‘Stars and Cars’ will be State Park Speedway on Saturday night July 24 for the Larry Detjens Memorial 125. The Detjens Weekend in Central Wisconsin continues to grow in popularity amongst the Midwest fanbase.

The traditional first Tuesday in August will again bring the nation’s best to Wisconsin International Raceway for the Gandrud Auto Group 250. The $10,000 to win, $1,200 to start, 250 lap race is set for Tuesday night August 3. Wisconsin’s Ty Majeski held off late challenges from Canada’s Cayden Lapcevich and Indiana’s Paul Shafer, Jr to win the 2020 edition which attracted drivers from ten states and Canada.

A return trip to a former mainstay on the ARCA Midwest Tour schedule will take place on Saturday night August 21. Final details are being worked out with the track, an updated announcement is expected in the coming weeks. Closing out a busy month of August will be the Howie Lettow Classic 100 on Friday night August 27. The second visit to MIS in 2021 will award $5,000 to the winner as well as a $5,000 bonus if a driver is able to be victorious in both the Joe Shear Classic and Howie Lettow Classic.

Wisconsin Dells and Labor Day Weekend are a Midwest tradition, that tradition continues for the ARCA Midwest Tour as well in 2021. With the traditional date, Labor Day Weekend Saturday night September 4, the traditional track, Dells Raceway Park, this tradition now has a new name. The first ever Jim Sauter Classic 200 will begin a new tradition at the 1/3 mile paved oval. The Jim Sauter Classic pays tribute to a Midwest short track racing legend and pays $10,000 to the winner.

The ARCA Midwest Tour will crown its Champion for the fifteenth time on Sunday afternoon October 10 during the Oktoberfest Race Weekend at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway. The annual Oktoberfest 200 for the ARCA Midwest Tour ‘Stars and Cars’ will highlight the four day racing festival amongst the fall foliage in western Wisconsin. For the second consecutive year, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway has invited the Midwest Tour to be part of the All American 400 weekend, which will be co-sanctioned by multiple regional Super Late Model touring groups. Nashville will be a non-points event for the Tour.
