Star Mazda Victory To Karam

Newton, Iowa, June 25 – Sage Karam led the final 98 laps to claim victory in the 100-lap Star Mazda Championship event at Iowa Speedway Saturday afternoon.
The first-year Andretti Autosport driver also won last week’s Star Mazda event at the Milwaukee Mile.
Karam started on the pole but outside front row starter Martin Scuncio took the lead at the green with Karam virtually along side of him.
Karam got by Scuncio on the third lap and was never headed as he led the final 98 laps and finished 7.837 seconds ahead of second-place J.V. Hirto. Gustavo Menezes was third was third, Tristan Vautier was fourth and Tatiana Calderon rounded out the top five.
Scuncio had mechanical problems and dropped out of the race after completing just 56 laps of the event.
