Elkhart Lake, WI – Tony Awe Racing has won all four of the Trans-Am events this season heading into Road America, where Awe himself finished in victory lane last season. Keeping the team’s streak alive, Doug Peterson led from the drop of the green flag and never looked back on his way to winning Round Five of the Trans-Am Series race at Road America.

With qualifying rained out, points leader Peterson started on the pole and held the top spot through-out the race. The win was the fourth in five races this season for Peterson.
Peterson, driving the 3Dimensional.com Chevrolet Corvette, survived a number of restarts and cruised to the checkers 1.44 seconds ahead of second place Cliff Ebben in his Stumpf Ford/McMahon Group Ford Mustang. Kyle Kelley rounded out the podium racing his Corvette into third in the top Trans-Am class after starting the race in eleventh.
TA2 points leader Cameron Lawrence won the TA2 class in his Chevrolet Camero and the TA3 victory was captured by last year’s TA3 class champion and defending TA3 race winner Chuck Cassaro in his Ford Mustang.
The Trans-Am Series returns to racing at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course in Lexington, Ohio for Round Six on August 17th.
