One-Month Break For Coons & Wilke-Pak Before Season Hits Stride

Keenly, NC.—Jerry Coons Jr., and Wilke-PAK Motorsports currently find themselves in seventh place in the Mopar USAC National Midget Championship points after the first three events of the season. Coons is try for a record-tying third straight drivers championship, while Wilke-PAK has won the car owner championship for the 2005 and ’07 seasons.

After missing fast time by .086 seconds, the team overcame some difficulties in the feature and finished in 15th place in the first ever USAC event at the 1/3-mile paved oval, Southern National Raceway near Raleigh, NC. The previous weekend at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway Coons finished 14th after starting in the last row of the event. A one month break in the 30-race schedule will occur before action continues with two straight home state events for the Wilke-PAK Team.
