Media Credentials Request

The Media Credentials Request must be entirely filled out and submitted no later than six weeks prior to the event date in order to be considered.

Submission of a Media Credentials Request application does not guarantee media credentials. will review all requests and reserves the right to apply or not apply for the credentials. Application for credentials by also does not guarantee media credentials. or the credentialing organization reserves the right to remove credentials onsite if any policies or procedures, safety or otherwise, are violated.  Reasons for removal may also include, but are not limited to: unprofessional behavior, unsafe behavior and or ignoring requests of safety workers/event officials. is committed to working with the credentialing organizations to provide the best event coverage within the guidelines set by the credentialing organization, we ask you to respect the organization guidelines and to learn, respect and follow the rules put forth by the organization. Media access is a privilege, not a right, and expects credentialed media to respect the privilege and maintain a great working relationship with credentialing organizations.

Credential Request

Requests for credentials are evaluated on a case by case basis. A request for media credentials does not guarantee that the request will be submitted by to the credentialing organization. Evaluation of applications will be performed by prior to submission and will be based on need of coverage, prior work by the person applying, and tenure of all persons applying (not necessarily in that order).

Requests for credentials must be submitted six weeks prior to the event date.

Notification of media credential acceptance is based on the operations of the credentialing organization. Sometimes organizations email the acceptance information directly to the requestor, sometimes they do not. does not have control over the notification, if you have questions, please contact us, not the credentialing organization.

Credentials and Access

The access afforded you via the credential is again, a privilege and not a right.

Please follow all rules, procedures and requests by security, safety or event personnel. If there is a question regarding whether you are allowed access to an area or the ability to perform a task, follow the instructions you are given, do not argue, and follow up on the situation with the media director of the event. Never argue. Treat each situation professionally – how you handle an issue shows your character and the character of, which should always be with the utmost in professionalism.

If you are not given the required access or pass at the time of credential pick-up, ask politely for clarification and if that does not work, ask for who to talk to so that you can request the proper passes. If that fails, contact us at and we will follow-up to resolve the situation. Please understand that mistakes happen in the credentialing procedure and accept the access that you are given until other arrangements can be made.

Credentials, passes, access stickers, your ID and any other information required for you to access areas of the event should be kept on your person at all times and readily available to display for event personal to inspect and validate.

Coverage Expectations – Media Pass

Unless you are attending an event to gather information for a future story, the expectation is that you have stories to submit to  Based on the event and the days that you attend, there should be practice, qualifying and racing sessions on track as well as press conference opportunities.  In the media center or via the series/track media director should also be an opportunity to find stories.  While there is currently no requirement on the number of stories to be submitted to from an event, please remember that you are attending the event representing with the expectation that you will provide coverage.  The coverage you provide directly impacts the website’s readership and visitor experience.  Your coverage can also determine if you and/or are invited to cover the event or series in the future.

Coverage Expectations – Photo Pass

Based on the access that you are afforded, there should be multiple opportunities for great photos at an event.  The photos that you take will be paired up with stories prepared by writers for, please talk with them and stay in contact with them throughout the event so that you can provide photos to help enhance the stories on the website.  There also is a need for photos to be used with future stories on the site.  Please try to capture vehicle as well as candid photos of drivers and team personnel suitable for future use.  Stories usually require 3-5 photos, so please edit your photos prior to submission.  Do not send the entire set of photos taken, unless requested.

Format:  .jpg
Size:  1024 x 768
Naming:  use the date (yymmdd), initials for series and short description
Example:  140510ICSPagenaudCheckers.jpg      meaning: 5/10/2014 IndyCar Series, Simon Pagenaud takes the checkered flag.
Caption: A paragraph is not needed, just a short explanation followed by your photo credit.
Credit: should be in this format following caption -> [John Wiedemann Photo]

Release of Liability

In consideration of the acceptance of me being permitted to cover events, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns agree to save harmless and keep indemnified, DevIn Group LLC., it’s individual members and their respective agents, officers, officials, servants, representatives, the owner, curator, lessors, agencies, (including but not limited to Federal, State, County, and City) from and against all actions, claims, costs, and expenses and demands in respect to death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property, howsoever caused, arising out of or in connection with my entry or participation in this event, and not with standing that the same may have contributed to, occasioned by, or directly caused by the negligence of said bodies, their agents, officials, servants, or representatives.

I know the risks of danger to myself and my property while I am attending, reporting, filming, videoing and/or taking still pictures of the event and while upon the event premises and relying upon my own judgment and ability, assume all risk of loss and take full responsibility for risk of bodily injury, death, and/or property damage due to the negligence of myself or my company or those under my supervision.

I have read and voluntarily agree to the release and waiver of liability and indemnity agreement and further agree that no oral representations, statements or inducements apart from the foregoing written agreement have been made.


If you requested a credential to an event and have been accepted, please let us know asap if you are going to be unable to attend.  Not much is worse than the organization seeing a credential unused at the end of the event without an explanation.

When you go to an event, you go representing and yourself.  Be professional, courteous, respectful, ready to work and overall thankful for the opportunity that you have been given.  If that doesn’t make sense to you – please do not request a credential.
