Martin Quickest In Second Practice Session For Allstate 400 At The Brickyard

Speedway, IN – Mark Martin posted the top speed in his Hendrick powered Chevrolet in the final practice session of the day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Circling the track at an average speed of 180.643mph, Martin’s run was the fastest of the day.
Juan Pablo Montoya posted the second quickest time in both practice sessions. Montoya, an Indianapolis Motor Speedway winner in the 2000 Indy 500, posted a speed of 180.581mph, just seventeen thousandths of a second slower than Martin’s lap. Kasey Kahne was third fastest in his Dodge, less than a tenth of a second off of Montoya’s pace.
Qualifying for the 2009 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard takes place Saturday morning with two more practice sessions later in the day. The Allstate 400 At The Brickyard will drop the green flag at 2:20pm EST on Sunday, July 26th.
