Joe GIbbs Racing Drivers Top Opening Indiana 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series Practice At Indy

Speedway, Ind., Sept. 6—Joe Gibbs Racing drivers topped the speed charts at the conclusion of the opening practice session for the Indiana 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series event Friday afternoon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Christopher Bell leading the session over Brandon Jones and Kyle Busch.
Bell, driving the #20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra, circled the legendary Indy oval at a speed of 168.218 mph to top the 35 cars that took to the track. Fellow JGR teammates Brandon Jones and Kyle Busch turned in the second and third fastest speeds at 168.215 mph and 167.782 mph respectively. Michael Annette driving the JR Motorsports #1 Chevrolet, was fourth at 167.682 mph and Ryan Sieg rounded out the top five by piloting his #39 Sieg Motorsports Chevrolet to a lap at 167.635 mph.
Austin Cindric was the sixth fastest driver in the opening session in his Penske Ford and Justin Allgaier was seventh in the #7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. NASCAR Xfinity Series championship contenders Cole Custer and Tyler Reddick were eighth and ninth while John Hunter Nemechek completed the top ten in the opening practice session.
