Grandstands Go Up As Days Countdown To Formula 1 United States Grand Prix

New seating and hospitality areas under construction as COTA preps for second F1 Grand Prix

AUSTIN, Texas (Nov. 4, 2013) – The sounds of hammers, drills and forklifts can be heard around Circuit of The Americas’ (COTA) 1,500-acre campus, as final preparations are underway for the 2013 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX, set for Nov. 15-16 in Austin, Texas.

COTA is building out the massive grandstands and hospitality areas that will accommodate an estimated 250,000 race fans over the three-day sports and entertainment spectacle, featuring the world’s best drivers and teams and most technically advanced race cars.

SKY BOXES
New to this year’s reserved seating mix are covered sky boxes located at Turn 2, Turn 20 and on the east side of the Main Grandstand. COTA’s sky boxes provide individual, padded seats with protection from the elements and internal TV monitors so guests can watch race cars as they loop the 3.4-mile circuit. The new sky boxes are located in areas with great views of the live racing action, too, as drivers enter and depart the track’s Main Straight. COTA added the covered sky boxes this year after quickly selling out of premium seating options in the Main Grandstand and at Turns 1 and 15.

TEMPORARY GRANDSTANDS
Crews are also putting the finishing touches on the temporary grandstands returning to Turns 3, 4, 5, 9, 11 and 12. These grandstand bleacher seats offer exceptional vantage points at affordable prices, starting as low at $79 per person for Friday’s practice sessions. COTA’s trackside suites and hospitality units situated at Turns 1, 13 and 19 are also taking shape.

TEAM BUILDINGS
In the COTA Paddock, construction of the Team Buildings that will serve as office and hospitality space for the 11 Formula One? teams is almost complete. Garages that will house the F1 cars are being cleaned and prepared for the tons of racing equipment that will soon arrive from overseas.
