Grand Prix Of Singapore Preview

Following
the final last two rounds of the formula one world championship in Europe on
the two fast circuits of Spa and Monza, the racers will now have a big
challenge as the next four rounds will be contested in Asia with one of the
races being on a track-a street track that has only been on the calendar since
2008, that is the Marina Bay Circuit in Singapore.
This track has
a nature of starting and stopping very quickly, and it can become a very low revving
track, which can have very different results. However, becoming a street track
is bad enough, but it can be made worse that this round of the championship is
contested at night-the only race of the world championship that does so, and
with the area just south of this little kingdom that can have some of the worse
weather in the world, with tropical monsoons that can have rain down in such a
quick second. However, in comparison to the race in Malaysia just down the
road, which is done in March with heavy rains at times, Singapore so far, has
not any rain in qualifying or race night since its beginning and with the
temperatures that drop and cool off at race time-about 10 degrees to be exact,
it might just be that the race this weekend could have the same effect.
The course
itself is hard to describe in comparison to other circuits, but one part of the
track at turn 10, will now have a quick left hander instead of the old sling
corner and when the driver takes to the track, he is not worrying too much
about going quick, although the average speed here is just about 120 miles per
hour. But instead, the driver has to be flawless through this street circuit
because it is the toughest on the calendar and the longest that the driver has
to endure all season long-not to mention the 80 percent humidity that comes
along with it.
So with
points leader Sebastian Vettel ready to extend his already dominating world
championship points lead, this race might give the other challengers more
of an opportunity to close in on the already
three time world champion, or it just might give Vettel an added incentive to
get closer to taking his fourth world title.
