DMS Driver Challenge endorsed by Nat’l Midget Driver of the Year

Madera,Calif., Jan. 28—The upcoming DeBeaumont Motorsports Driver Challenge at Madera Speedway on March 2-6, continues to enroll participates, along with receiving endorsements from personnel and companies involved in open wheel racing.

“The 2009 DMS Driver Challenge” will give young racing talent in North America, the chance to participate in selected USAC National & USAC Western Midget Series events during the 2009 season. Over the course of five days in March, participants will be driving USAC pavement midgets in segment tests, in front of influential industry insiders.

The drivers will also receive coaching by professional open wheel drivers. Judging will be based on talent, communication, coach ability, past performance and future projection. All participating drivers will also receive career consulting and year-long promotion of their racing achievements to industry insiders through DMS publicity.

“The 2009 DMS Driver Challenge” has reached a promotional agreement with The National Midget Driver of the Year Champion (NMDOTY). Since 1999 The NMDOTY has determined midget auto racing’s top driver, counting every series event run nationwide towards the year-end championship. In 2008 Tracy Hines topped 588 drivers, running in 226 events nationwide to capture his second career NMDOTY title.

“Many supporters of the DMS Driver Challenge are also involved with the NMDOTY, so it’s a great fit, Marc has done a great job developing talent already with his program and this will move it to the next level.” commented Bryan Gapinski, founder and director of the NMDOTY. “We all need to try and develop/promote young drivers as they use midget racing to advance their career.

Among those who have driven for DMS during the past five years include: 2007 NMDOTY Champion Jerry Coons Jr., Earnhardt-Ganassi racing’s Bryan Clauson, former NASCAR star Shane Hmiel and 2007 USAC Western States Sprint Car Champion Ryan Kaplan. Marc DeBeaumont, owner of DMS Race Products and DMS Racing began his career behind the wheel of Midget cars in 1992. DeBeaumont is also the only driver to ever capture West Coast Midget titles in USAC Western and BCRA Midget competition.

Driver coaches include: Coons, Clauson and Hmiel, while talent scouts present include: Tim Clauson of Bryan Clauson Inc., and Motorsports Management International (MMI)’s Kirk Spridgeon, and Lorin Rainer. For further to participate in this event log onto: www.dmsdriverchallenge.com.

DMS Driver Challenge Facts

Where: Madera Speedway, Madera, CA. 1/3 mile asphalt oval.

When: March 2-6, 2009 (first round). March 17, 2009 (final round)

What: An opportunity to earn a fully funded ride for one of the top teams in the USAC midget series.

? All drivers will be driving USAC pavement midgets in front of influential industry insiders.
? All drivers will get approximately forty five laps at speed broken into multiple segments. Drivers will drive all laps on a single day within the challenge.
? All drivers will be coached by professional race car drivers.
? All drivers will be in the “DMS Link” which includes e-mail notification of feature wins or other top performances to influential insiders throughout the 2009 season, driver’s placement on the DMS Driver Challenge website and career consulting.
? All drivers will be judged on driving talent, communication, coachability, past performance and future projection.
? Selected driver(s) will be offered a professional drivers contract to participate in selected USAC National & USAC Western States midget series races in the 2009 racing season, driving the DMS house car.
