Daytona Roars To Life With Grand-Am Series

Over 100 Grand-Am race cars took to the hight banks of Daytona to begin the ushering in of the 2012 racing season.

An open practice named the Roar Before the Rolex 24 at the Daytona International Speedway this weekend is the prelude to the 50th Anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona which will take place on January 28-29.

Allan McNish, two-time Le Mans 24-Hour winner, and Lucas Luhr, current FIA GT1 world champ, will race with Ryan Dalziel, 2010 Rolex 24 winner, Enzo Potolicchio and Alex Popowin the #8 Ford/Riley for Starworks Motorsport.

The Flying Lizard Motorsports team returns in 2012 to the Rolex 24 at Daytona with the #45 Porsche with a driver lineup of Joerg Bergmeister (Germany), Patrick Long (USA), Mike Rockenfeller (Germany), and Seth Neiman (USA).
