Conor Daly Passes Rookie Test At Indy

SPEEDWAY, IN: Proving himself to be a true jet-setter, Noblesville, Indiana’s Conor Daly arrived at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Monday after racing in Spain this weekend and proceeded to pass his rookie test with no fanfare and a healthy dose of talent.

The 22 year old son of six time Indy 500 starter Derek Daly has been coming to the Speedway as a spectator since childhood and, on Monday, realized his dream of becoming eligible to qualify for the big race.

Even though his famous father was born in Ireland, Conor is a native Hoosier through and through. And, as a member of the ABC Supply Honda team owned by the one-and-only A.J. Foyt, there appears to be another all-American threat for victory ready to challenge for the Pole Position when time trials begin at the Speedway this Saturday.

Conor admits that his focus, until this year, has been to become the next American challenger to conquer the world of Formula One Grand Prix racing. With a successful background of Star Mazda, Indy Lites and European GP3 competition already under his belt, young Mr. Daly is poised to realize his Formula One aspirations.

However, if things go as well as they might at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this month, the USA just might lose a Grand Prix representative and gain a new IndyCar star!
