Carl Edwards, Featurerd Speaker At PRI Trade Show Grand Opening Breakfast

One of the hottest racers of the year in both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series, Carl Edwards will share his colorful racing stories at the Grand Opening Breakfast of the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show. It will take place on the morning of the first day of the world’s largest racing trade show–Thursday, December 6, 2007, in Orlando.

Famous for his victory back flips, Edwards will speak before an audience of 3,500 members of the worldwide racing industry. The PRI Trade Show will take place at the Orange County Convention Center, December 6-8, 2007. Darrell Waltrip had been originally scheduled to address the racing industry at the Breakfast, however, new commitments at Fox Sports prevent him from appearing.

Driving for Roush Fenway Racing, Edwards competes in the No. 99 Office Depot Ford in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and the No. 60 Scotts Winterguard Ford Fusion n the NASCAR Busch Series. At press time, Edwards leads the points race in the Busch Series and is in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.

“We’re very excited to have Carl come to the PRI Trade Show and share his colorful racing stories,” stated Steve Lewis, producer of the Show. “He’s a huge talent at the top of his game right now, plus he has great energy and a winning personality. Carl’s journey to the top of American racing circles is an interesting one, and I know he’ll have some great stories for our racing industry audience. This is going to be fun.”

In the first 10 years of his career, Edwards accumulated two NASCAR sanctioned track championships, and 79 feature wins while racing on both dirt and pavement tracks across the country. He was Rookie-of the-Year in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Busch Series. Edwards made a big impression on fans, media and competitors alike when he took to the track in 2005 in the NEXTEL Cup Series. He accrued four wins, 13 top five and 18 top 10 finishes while finishing third in the overall point standings and giving champion Tony Stewart a run for his money.

Lewis urged those planning to attend the PRI Trade Show to preregister and receive their credentials in advance of the Show in order to avoid the long registration lines on-site at the Show.

The Grand Opening Breakfast has become a cherished tradition at the PRI Trade Show, which features displays of new racing products by 1,450 exhibitors in roughly 1,000,000 square feet of floor space. 45,000 racing industry entrepreneurs are expected to attend from 50 countries.

The Grand Opening Breakfast will be the hottest ticket in town. Doors to the northwest corner of the exhibit hall open at 7:00 a.m., and the program will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
