“Bia” Happy To Be At Indianapolis

Wednesday, May 19, I conducted a brief interview with Indianapolis 500 rookie, Ana (Bia) Beatriz. She is one of five women, seven rookies and eight Brazilians that will attempt to qualify for the Indianapolis 500. Andre Ribiero, mentioned in the interview, is a former Champ Car World Series driver, and drove in the 1995 Indianapolis 500.

Q- When you were in a press conference the other day, I noticed you mentioned your two sponsors. Your two main sponsors seem to be an interesting combination. Now what were those again and how did that come together?

The race, inside and outside of the track, got big coverage in Brazil and we decided to do it again for Indy 500. I very much appreciate it because it is a big dream.

Monage is more a personal sponsorship. It is a women’s skin cream, more personal. Outside of the track I’m a woman and I like to smell and look good. The skin cream is very welcome and very different.

Q- It is a very interesting combination.
A- Yeah, it is. But they are very big companies in Brazil so it’s nice to have such a great brand with me.

Q- You mentioned Andre Ribiero the other day. Did he just work with you on the sponsorship or is he coaching you as well?
A- Well, Andre takes care of my career and. . .

Q- He’s your manager, basically?
A- Sort of. I don’t like manager because Andre’s more than that. When I was in go-karts he chose me to play an extra role in my career.
