Earlier this month, following the postponement of the season as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Formula 1® announced the opening eight races of the revised schedule. After the double-header in Austria, the teams will race in Hungary and twice in the United Kingdom, before competing in Spain, Belgium and Italy, with all of these events expected to take place behind closed doors. A finalized calendar is due to be announced in the coming weeks and is likely to comprise 15 to 18 races.

Formula 1® marks its 70th anniversary in 2020 and will honour the occasion during the second race at Silverstone Circuit (UK) over the weekend of 7–9 August. The track famously hosted the first Formula 1® Grand Prix in 1950 and the event provides an opportunity for the sport to reflect on its rich history, the legends who have paved the way for future generations and its ongoing technological advancements. In its eighth year as a Global Partner and the Official Timepiece of Formula 1®, Rolex continues to support the endless pursuit of innovation at the pinnacle of motor racing. Sir Jackie adds: “It is this continuous search for excellence and attention to detail that unites Rolex and Formula 1, both constantly striving to be the best and to find new ways of enhancing performance.”
