ARCA Midwest Tour Announces 10 Dates For The 2018 Schedule

The ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment has announced the tentative 2018 schedule that will have the popular Super Late Model series visiting 10 different tracks in Illinois and Wisconsin. All races will be held on the best Midwest tracks that range from as small as a quarter-mile to a 1.25-mile oval.

The 2018 season will open on Sunday afternoon May 6th with the running of the Joe Shear Classic 200 at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin. Last year, Andrew Morrissey became the second driver to become a two-time winner of the event on ‘Wisconsin’s fastest half-mile oval.”

State Park Speedway in Wausau, Wisconsin will host the Cabin Fever 100 on Saturday, May 19th. The Wimmer family owned track has become one of the more popular events in central Wisconsin as the third-mile oval provides great side-by-side racing.

The stars & cars of the ARCA Midwest Tour will end the month of May with its second annual stop at Jefferson Speedway, located between Cambridge & Jefferson, Wisconsin, for the Salute the Troops 100. “Wisconsin’s action track” could produce some great fireworks on and off the track over Memorial Day weekend.

After a fast start to the season, the stars & cars will get a little break and prepare for their third annual trip to Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois (just outside of the St. Louis Gateway Arch) for a 50-mile event on the 1.25-mile oval. Last year, Ty Majeski made a late race pass on Paul Shafer Jr. to win the event for a second year in a row in front of a huge crowd.

One of the most historical tracks in all of short track racing will welcome back the ARCA Midwest Tour on Saturday, June 30th for the running of the Kar Korner All-Star 100 at the Rockford Speedway in Loves Park, Illinois. Fans were out of their seats last year as they witnessed Majeski and Austin Nason battle for the checkered flag around the tight, high-banked, quarter-mile oval.

The Rod Baker/Illinois Truck & Equipment Wayne Carter Classic returns to Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois on Saturday, July 14th. It was a thrilling event last year when local Chicagoland star Ricky Baker picked up the big win at his home track.

Put in your vacation requests now for Tuesday, August 7th and plan to join the Stars & Cars at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wisconsin for the Forest County Potawatomi Dixieland 250. Casey Johnson picked up his first victory in the ARCA Midwest Tour by taking the checkered flag in this prestigious short track event.

Last year, Golden Sands Speedway, located between Plover and Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, welcomed the ARCA Midwest Tour for the first time. The fans saw a great race and witnessed Dalton Zehr make a three-wide pass for the lead and pick up his first Tour victory. The Tour will return to Sam Bartus built track on Saturday, August 18th.

What is becoming a Labor Day tradition, the ARCA Midwest Tour will make their annual visit to Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 1st. Last year, Ty Majeski picked up the win and basically secured his fourth straight championship. A year before, Derek Kraus became the youngest winner in the tour history.

The 49th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend will once again be the backdrop for the season finale on October 6-7th at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, Wisconsin. A 200-lap main event will determine the 2018 champion and rookie of the year.

Who will be the 2018 Champion? Who will be the 2018 Rookie of the Year? Who will be the next Super Late Model stars? Update your calendars now and be a part of the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment 2018 season.
