Elkhart Lake, WI – Under threatening skies, AJ Allmendinger captured the pole for the Johnsonville Sausage 250 Nationwide Series race at Road America.

Owen Kelly in the Joe Gibbs Racing Monster Energy Toyota qualified second, Parker Kligerman third, Justin Allgaier fourth and Michael McDowell rounded out the top five.
Point standings leader Regan Smith qualified sixteenth and Last year’s winner Nelson Piquet Jr qualified sixth. Sam Hornish Jr. , currently second in the point standings fifty-eight points behind, qualified eighth.
