Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Preview

As Sebastian Vettel just wrapped up his fourth
consecutive world drivers’ championship last weekend in India, the rest of the
field have all to play for as the 17th round of the title goes to
the Yas Marina circuit this weekend in
Abu Dhabi. This is other one of the Herman Tilke designed tracks, but as in
Singapore, where the race is completely at night, this track has its race begin
at dusk and conclude under the lights.

The circuit here has a very tight area, and almost
reminds you of Canada, where there are only small amounts of room to have
runoff. However, the track has only a few areas that have some point of
interest. This is a mid-range type of power track, but on turn seven, the track
has a tight hairpin which can remind you of the grand hairpin at Monaco.

Turn Eight is also at the back of the circuit, and
here you have to space your gears in order to accelerate through the turns.
This is not the only part of the track when you use the throttle, because when
you think of it, half of the race is spent on full throttle, despite the layout
of the circuit.

From turn 11 to the final turn at section 21, the
track is mainly pushed into right handed turns, and the average speed is around
190 miles per hour, so the challenge is still there and even with other events
still to fight for, this race along with the last two following it, can remain
to make fans focus on the remainder of the grand prix season.
