Tanner Foust – Wheelman For The Ages

…only on the Dave Despain Show, Sunday, October 4, at 8:30pm ET

Corona, CA (September 29, 2015): Tanner Foust is a high-octane driving talent in so many differing and highly expert related automotive performances that’s it’s hard to categorize him. But this Sunday, October 4, at 8:30pm ET, Dave tries to unravel the mystique behind the legend. Foust will be in Despain’s hot seat and reveals his uncanny talent for driving almost anything on wheels propelling him to an elite status among the world’s best in rally, drift, and stunts.

151004DespainFoustFans of the American Top Gear television series on The History Channel know Foust as an on-air host, but that’s just scratching the surface. Foust is a two-time Formula Drift champion (2007, 2008), three-time Rallycross champion (2010, 2011, 2012) and a four-time Gold Medal Winner at the X Games (2007, 2010 x 2, 2013). He has twice represented Team USA in the annual Race of Champions, with NASCAR star Carl Edwards in 2008 and Travis Pastrana in 2009. He returned on the All-Star Team with motorcycle champion Mick Doohan in 2010.

Foust is a native of Denver, Colorado, and grew up in a naval family. He discovered rally racing during his childhood in Scotland, and learned to drive fast along some of the roughest country roads on the planet. Returning to the U.S., he enrolled at the University of Colorado, and spent his summers at racetracks, later began work as an ice driving coach, and began competing in rally and drifting. He has since performed at the very highest levels in drift, off-road, hill Climbs, ice racing, rallycross, and multiple types of sports car racing at such iconic events as Pikes Peak Hill Climb, The Baja 1000 and the European Rally Championship

“Of course I wanted to drive and race anything and everything so I hardly ever said no to a stunt job or TV deal. One thing always helped the other, racing helped get the stunt jobs, both racing and stunt helped get the TV jobs and the TV jobs helped raise money for racing,” said Tanner Foust.

Foust has captured several world records including the Hot Wheels Double Loop Dare (a 66-foot loop-the-loop) and the Hot Wheels longest distance truck jump at the 2011 Indy 500 (a 332-feet ramp-to-ramp leap). Off the track, his stunt driving includes work as a lead driver in major films such as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Dukes of Hazzard, Red Dawn and Iron Man 2, as well as many popular TV shows and commercials.
