WEST ALLIS, WI: The Man from France, Rookie Tristan Vautier, converted his Pole Position into a well judged victory in Friday's Firestone Indy Lights 100 at The Milwaukee Mile, leading every lap.

Indy 500 vet Sebastian Saavedra held second throughout, but couldn't put a dent in the speedy Frenchman's march to the Winner's Circle.

During the final dozen laps, Saavedra took numerious runs at the leader, but Vautier was equal to every challenge.

Another rookie, sprint car veteran Mike Larrison from Avon, IN, driving for Davey Hamilton's team, was responcible for the first two caution periods. Larrison, who also had light wall contact in a morning practice session, spun in Turn 3 on lap 13, but was able to restart. Finally, Mike couldn't avoid the fence in turn 4 on lap 42, and his race was run.

The final 58 laps ran caution free, with only Larrison failing to complete the event.
