MILWAUKEE, WI (April 8, 2014)- The Milwaukee Mile will host more than just racing this August, as officials from the ABC Supply Co. Inc. Wisconsin 250 at Milwaukee IndyFest Presented by the Metro Milwaukee Honda Dealers and the National Volleyball League (NVL) announced that the fifth event of its Pro Beach tour will take place at Milwaukee IndyFest August 16-17. The California-based league will host players from around the nation as a part of the three-stop swing of their Midwest tour. Construction of the sand court inside of Turn 3 will create a beach party atmosphere inside the Coors Light Music and Beer Garden, with food, drink, and live, on-stage entertainment available throughout the race weekend.

“We are looking forward to hosting the NVL at Milwaukee IndyFest this year,” said Kevin Healy-General Manager, Milwaukee IndyFest. “We know that all the excitement of a full-fledged beach volleyball tournament will add yet another layer to the fun, family festival atmosphere of our event. We can’t wait to see the players take to the court August 16-17-maybe they can show some of the IndyCar drivers how it’s done with a competitive game or two!”

NVL athletes will make the trek to Milwaukee this August not only to compete in the Pro Beach tournament, but also to put on a series of clinics throughout the weekend for youth players and those unfamiliar with beach volleyball. Founded in 2010, the NVL has quickly become a household name, hosting Olympic gold medal athletes and touring the nation as one of the premier beach volleyball leagues in the United States.

“We are thrilled to partner with IndyFest, as this is a great family event where we will be able to highlight the National Volleyball League and our great athletes. This will be a unique venue for us to introduce beach volleyball to new fans that may not otherwise have the opportunity to be exposed to the sport,” stated NVL founder, Albert Hannemann. “We are bringing the California lifestyle to Milwaukee and it’s going to be a fun experience for everyone.”

All the pro beach volleyball action will be free to watch for Milwaukee IndyFest attendees. Once finalized, a schedule of NVL game times and all the on- and off-track activities at Milwaukee IndyFest will be available at www.milwaukeeindyfest.com.
