Charlotte, NC—Leavine Family Racing plans to enter their #95 Ford in a minimum of 20 races in the 2015 season with Michael McDowell handling the driving duties, representatives of the race team told media personnel during the Charlotte Motor Speedway Media Tour presented by Technocom.

Owner Bob Leavine said the team’s momentum heading into 2015 is built upon what the organization didn’t get done a season ago and he laid out three main goals moving forward. Leavine expects the team to qualify for each of the minimum of 20 races they are scheduled to compete in and race strong in each of those events. He also expects the car to finish in the top 25 each time it competes on the track.

Thrivent Financial has increased its sponsorship of the team and has ten races with primary sponsorship on the car for 2015 along with an additional 10 races as an associate sponsor. K-Love also returns this season for a minimum of 5 races on the #95 Ford. The team will continue its technical alliance with Team Penske.

McDowell said he is looking forward to getting the year started behind the wheel of the Leavine Family Racing Ford.

“We really started to build some momentum halfway through last season and by the end of the year we started to figure out the cars and what I needed, “McDowell stated, “We’ve made some changes in the off-season and have been fortunate to add a lot of really great people to our organization. With our alliances with Ford and Team Penske we really feel like we have the tools to go out there and be competitive. We’re a small team but we still have great equipment and great people and I’m just thankful to be here racing in the Sprint Cup Series.”
