Kanaan Quickest Overall During Practice At Road America

Elkhart Lake, WI – New faces jumped to the top of the speed charts in the final practice prior to qualifying for the Verizon IndyCar Series KOHLER Grand Prix at Road America.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Tony Kanaan and Scott Dixon were the quickest in the final practice and topped the combined speed chart from all practices. Team Penske’s Will Power was third quick in the final round of practice with rookie Max Chilton in fourth.

Graham Rahal’s run in the second practice session yesterday is the fourth quickest overall. Point leader Simon Pagenaud was the quickest driver in the opening practice session. Pagenaud’s time from the final session placed him 8th overall in the combined practice results.

Next up on today’s schedule for the IndyCar drivers at Road America is qualifications for the KOHLER Grand Prix, featuring three knockout rounds leading up to the Firestone Fast Six. Qualifying begins at 4 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on RaceControl.IndyCar.com.

Sunday’s Kohler Grand Prix is a 50-lap race on the 4.014-mile “National Park of Speed”. The race will be the first Indy car race at Road America since 2007, a race that Sebastien Bourdais won. Coverage starts at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and the Advance Auto Parts INDYCAR Radio Network.
