Starting from the pole slot, the Dubai resident took command at the start and raced away unchallenged. The victor drove the Toys for Boys Miami/United Rivers mount fielded by Carlin Racing.

Said Jones, 20, about his victory, “It was a great race for me. After the start, I got a good jump on Max (Chilton) and the other guys and I kept my head down. Unfortunately, there was a caution and we had to do it all over again but nevertheless I made a good jump on the first two laps. And then I started edging ahead of Jack (Harvey) and it was all about maintaining my pace to the end.”

Jones expressed his excitement not only for winning the race but giving Carlin Racing its first victory in the Unites States. “All around it was a fantastic effort,” Jones added.

Jack Harvey finished second and Spencer Pigot took third.

Scott Hargrove and Kyle Kinser were fourth and fifth.

13 cars started and 11 finished.

One caution flag on lap 2 slowed the field. The crash involved Chilton and Felix Serralles. Chilton was in the second Carlin car.
