Lexington, Ohio – Scott Dixon led the way in Verizon IndyCar Series practice at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as preparations got underway for Sunday’s Honda Indy 200. In two rounds of practice, Dixon topped the charts with a time of 1:05.9645 or 123.230 miles per hour around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile road course.

“Today, we went through some fairly big changes to the set-up, connecting and disconnecting bars and trying different stuff here and there,” Dixon said “At the end, we started to get into a good stride, going in the right direction and obtaining good comfortability. We’ve got speed now but it is Friday and it doesn’t mean much.”

Sebastien Bourdais had the second fastest time and reigning champion Will Power was third quick.

Hometown hero Graham Rahal was nestled in the fourth spot with Takuma Sato fifth.

Tony Kanaan, Jack Hawksworth, Marco Andretti, Josef Newgarden and Ryan Hunter-Reay rounded out the top-10.

On Saturday, a 45-minute practice session precedes Firestone Fast 6 qualifications at 3 p.m. ET.
