Bell Clinches NMDOTY Title

Perris, Calif., Nov. 24—Christopher Bell’s incredible midget racing season has allowed him to clinch National Midget Driver of the Year Championship, with one race remaining.

Bell becomes the sixth multiple-time NMDOTY Champion in sixteen seasons. The Oklahoma driver holds a commanding 230-point lead over three-time NMDOTY Champion Bryan Clauson entering Thursday night’s 74th “Turkey Night Grand Prix” at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway, with 160-points available.

Clauson’s Driver Development Team driver Spencer Bayston has clinched the Design 500 Racewear Rookie of the Year honors. Kunz/Curb-Agajanian have won their third straight Car Owners Championship and holds three of the top five positions in the car owner points. Esslinger Engineering (engine) and Spike Chassis (chassis) have again won the Manufactures Champion.
