Bean Quickest In Final ARCA RE/MAX Series Practice At Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH FL (2-8-08)?Westby, Wisconsin?s Dexter Bean was quickest during a one hour ARCA RE/MAX Series final practice session Friday afternoon in preparation for Saturday?s ARCA 200 at Daytona, circling the 2.5-mile speedway in 49.015 seconds for a speed of 183.617 mph.

?The Team Glock Chevy was really strong in practice and good in the draft,? said Bean. ?We were third yesterday in practice and we went out today to make sure that the tape on the grill and everything is set up right on the car. We went out and ended up on top of the board.?

Tayler Malsam (No. 4 Dodge Motorsports-Cunningham Motorsports Dodge), Kyle Krisiloff, (No. 7 Clabber Girl Baking Powder Chevrolet), Brad Baker (No. 47 Envirox Ford) and John Wes Townley (No. 09 Zaxby?s-SPS Ford) rounded out the top-five.

The limited impound practice session, in which teams were only allowed to make certain pre-approved adjustments to their car, provided drivers a final opportunity to make laps around the 2.5-mile speedway before Saturday?s ARCA 200 at Daytona. In all, 28 drivers opted to participate in the session. Among them, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., (No. 99 Roush Fenway Racing Ford) and Bill Baird (No. 52 Saturn Machine Dodge), who were coming up to speed during the first lap of practice when they made contact coming off of turn two, causing a 20 minute delay in on-track activity. Both teams unloaded and prepared backup cars for their drivers in less than 45 minutes time.

The ARCA 200 at Daytona is LIVE on SPEED beginning at 4 p.m. Eastern on Saturday.
