A Championship Battle In RealTime

The SCCA SPEED Touring Car Finale presented by Toyo Tires could be the most anticipated race in recent memory.
Three drivers, all RealTime teammates, are in the hunt for the Title, separated by only 16 points.

Four-time World Challenge Champion and team owner Peter Cunningham (No. 42 Acura/RealTime/Eibach/Red Line
Oil Acura TSX) leads the way, having scored five podium finishes this season and only once finished outside the top
five. He holds a slim four-point lead over Canadian Kuno Wittmer in the No. 44 Acura/RealTime/Eibach/Red Line Oil
Acura TSX. Wittmer scored his first-ever win in Round Two at VIRginia International Raceway and backed it up with
wins at Lime Rock Park and Mid-Ohio, but poor finishes at Watkins Glen and Road America have him chasing
Cunningham with one race remaining. Then, of course, there is Pierre Kleinubing (No. 43
Acura/RealTime/Eibach/Red Line Oil Acura TSX). He?s stood on the podium six times this year, but hasn?t climbed
the top step since Sebring. He has stood on the top step at Road Atlanta three times previously.

All of RealTime?s combined success helped Acura clinch the SCCA SPEED Touring Car Manufacturers? Championship
a race early, at Mosport International Raceway in August.

Also wrapped up at Mosport was the SCCA SPEED Touring Car Rookie of the Year Title, which went to Jason Saini,
driver of the No. 74 Mazdaspeed/Stoptech/Racinghart MAZDA6. With that out of the way, Saini can focus on
catching Chip Herr (No. 97 Mazdaspeed/Tindol Motorsports MAZDA6) for the fourth spot in the standings. Saini was
the benefactor of Herr?s last-lap run-in with Seth Thomas, which dropped Herr from second to fifth, but promoted
Saini from fourth to second.

Speaking of Thomas, the No. 38 Bimmerworld/GearWrench BMW325i driver has a score to settle at Road Atlanta this
weekend. Hailing from Cumming, Ga., the hometown favorite qualified second here last year and led much of the
race, before getting beat by Michael Galati on a restart. Racing in the rain, things only went downhill for Thomas
from there, literally, as he found himself sliding sideways down the hill at Turn 10 and into Cunningham?s Acura. He
and the BimmerWorld team, including Road America winner James Clay in the No. 36 BimmerWorld/ GearWrench
BMW 325i have their sights set on a strong finish to close the season.

Last year?s race winner Michael Galati could be the favorite to win again this time around. Galati has already
notched wins at Watkins Glen and Mosport in the No. 95 Mazda North America/Tindol MAZDA6 and will be a
formidable opponent at Road Atlanta, rain or shine.

Other drivers to watch in SPEED Touring Car include: Jim Daniels (MAZDA6), Nick Esayian (BMW 325i), Charles
Espenlaub (MAZAD6) and Dino Crescentini (Acura TSX).
